Use the Square and the X buttons to attack the non-moving enemy to find out how your basic combo attacks work. You can lock the camera on an enemy by pressing down on the right analog stick so that you can easily follow it around and deal some damage with your attacks. Along with your trusty sword, you will also get a backpack you can equip right away so that you can carry items with you. You will be sent to a special area where you’ll move around with the left analog stick and tilt the camera with the right one so that you can see what you’re going up against. Since there is so much to do in the game and so much to learn, I suggest that you start your journey by taking on the tutorial that Outward has to offer. Sure, you will get to go out on a big adventure and take on dangerous enemies and wildlife, and you might learn some powerful skills to tip the balance a bit in your favor, but this one is really more of an underdog story when you think about it. In Outward you take on the role of not a hero, but of a regular person who is not particularly strong nor particularly good at anything.
